Replacing your missing teeth is a huge decision to make. And a necessary one. Living with missing teeth has consequences. Your speech can be affected. And your remaining teeth can move around and give you a crooked smile. But most importantly, your oral health and jawbone health will be hugely affected if you don’t replace the teeth you’ve lost. Dr. Rigby at Rigby Dental has a solution that will work for you.
People who have lost almost all their teeth often find complete dentures to be a great solution. Also, the most affordable. You can get complete dentures to replace all of your teeth, or just for the top or bottom if that’s what you need.
If you’ve still got some healthy teeth, partials may be your solution. They can fill in the gaps by attaching to your other teeth. They’re secured with removable clasps to keep everything very stable.
If you want a fix that’s almost identical to a full set of natural teeth, implant-supported dentures are something to explore. The benefits:

Many of us have a distinct memory of seeing a grandparent’s dentures soaking in a cup in the bathroom. And realizing that, wow, people lose their teeth someday and end up with this “weird” problem. But those dentures from back in the day are way different from modern ones. Now, dentures fit perfectly. More comfortable. Look more natural.
How long your dentures last depends on the type and how well you take care of them.
Traditional dentures need to be brushed every day with a non-abrasive cleanser. And yes, soaking, just like in the old days. Same with partials. Implant-supported dentures are cared for the same way you care for your real teeth. Brushing twice a day, flossing. And keep getting checkups every six months.
If you’ve got missing teeth, you’re at greater risk for tooth decay because remaining teeth are more exposed to bacteria. Gum disease, too. Keeping your mouth healthy is important for your teeth, but also for your overall health.
Routine checkups at a dental office for dentures let Dr. Rigby make sure your dentures are in good shape and your oral health is staying intact. Over time, your mouth changes, so staying on top of this helps you keep your dentures lasting longer and having an optimal fit.
